Any great company requires talented and passionate people working together to fulfil that company’s mission and vision. At TSWG we are extremely fortunate to have a number of amazing teammates, all working to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers. We’re software developers, designers, security experts, cloud junkies, tech support superheroes and so much more. Each month we like to shine the spotlight on one member of the TSWG team, and give you a peek at the remarkable group of people behind our technology solutions.
Please say hello to Raphael Skrzypaszek, our Senior Network Engineer.
Raph has been with TSWG since 2013 and has over 20 years of IT industry experience working in networking and telecommunications. At TSWG, he is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable and highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs for our applications. On a day-to-day basis, Raph is also our go to guy for incident resolution and vendor escalation management. He always puts in 100% and for this reason we’re proud to say that Raph was a deserving finalist for our Employee of the Year award this year.
We decided that it was about time we found out a little bit more about Raph!
What would constitute a perfect day for you?
A perfect day for me would be a CrossFit Workout followed by a nice breakfast at a local café. I would then spend the afternoon fishing, followed by a few beers to wind down.
What is one thing about yourself that not many people know?
I can speak two languages.
If you were given an all-expenses paid holiday to anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Would definitely have to be France. I try to watch the Tour de France every year just for the scenery.
What is your favourite thing about working at TSWG?
The best thing about TSWG would have to be my team mates and the way we are able to collaborate within the infrastructure team. I am also exposed to different systems and application architecture on a regular basis which helps me to be a better Network Engineer and means I could never be bored!
What is your absolute favourite thing to eat?
Hard to go past a good American BBQ.
What would you say is the best thing about being a Network Engineer?
It’s all about data packets for me. I am still marvelled by what happens when a file is transferred from one side of the world to the other, and that after all the technology is broken down, it is really just 1’s and 0’s being transported across electrical or optical medium.
If you could have a drink with anyone (fictional, alive, dead, famous, non-famous) who would it be and why?
Russ White – a true networking genius who has contributed so much to the Networking Community.
Stay tuned for more next month!
