TSWG is pleased to announce Julie Scharf from ECU as the 2017 winner of the Harry Zaphir Village Entrepreneur Scholarship.

Congratulations to Julie Scharf for being awarded the Harry Zaphir Village Entrepreneur Scholarship in partnership with CUFA. Julie will be heading to Cambodia to engage with CUFA’s Village Entrepreneur Program and help members of rural credit unions start up and expand their small businesses. She will be given the opportunity to provide advice and support in running their business and will play a role in achieving CUFA’s goal to strengthen communities.

TSWG is proud to sponsor the Harry Zaphir Scholarship which is awarded to an emerging leader of the Mutual movement. Dedicated in memory of Harry Zaphir and in honour of his dedication to fostering the talent of ‘bright young things’, this scholarship has been set up to provide a unique opportunity for the recipient to develop and grow by engaging with CUFA’s projects.

Julie’s passionate video demonstrates that she is committed to strengthening communities using a hands-on approach and is a worthy advocate of the Village Entrepreneur Program. As part of the scholarship, Julie will also fundraise $1332 to support a Village Entrepreneur in Cambodia or Timor-Leste to receive business and agricultural training and enable the expansion or establishment of micro-enterprises within their community.
